Weichai (Chongqing) Automotive Co., Ltd. (hereinafter short for “Weichai Motor”) is one of the most important automobile companies in west of China, and is a wholly owned subsidiary of WEICHAI Group.
As a strategic emerging company, Weichai Motor owns the only passenger car brand of Weichai Group, “Enranger”, which shoulders the responsibility of expanding the passenger car market.
Weichai Motor is founded in 1956 with the name of Chongqing Yuzhou Automobile Manufacturing Company, and developed as Chongqing Jialing Chuanjiang Automobile Manufacturing Company.
Chongqing Jialing Chuanjiang Automobile Manufacturing Company is held by Weichai Group in 2009 and wholly owned by Weichai Group in January 2012. Then it was renamed as Weichai (Chongqing) Automotive Co., Ltd.
Production base of Weichai Motor locates in Shuangfu new industry zone, Jiangjin District, Chongqing, covering an area of 1,285 mu. In March 2015, the first phase of the factory put into operation, with an annual production capacity of 120,000 units. The factory has four complete processes, adopting full-automatic transportation and full-scale information support, is equipped with a large number of import equipment, and the technological level has reached the domestic leading position. After the completion of the second phase, the annual production capacity will reach 300,000 units.
The company is led by product R&D and has an R&D and management team with rich experience in the automotive industry. Under their leadership, the company's compact SUV Enranger G3, seven seats family business class Enranger 737, seven seats large commercial vehicles Enranger 727, seven seats wide and large SUV Enranger G5 have been successfully launched. The fashionable shape, surging power and superior performance have made Enranger widely praised.
