Notice on Launching a Review and Approval “Green Channel” for International Air Cargo Transport during the Period of Epidemic Prevention and Control
In order to implement the work requirements of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council on improving China’s air cargo capacity and enhancing the international competitiveness of China’s logistics industry, in light of the changing international epidemic development and feature of the epidemic prevention and control at this stage, in view of the current grim situation of insufficient international air cargo capacity, and in order to ensure the stability of the international air cargo supply chain during the period of epidemic prevention and control, it is decided after study to make temporary adjustments to the administrative procedures of international cargo flight plan by launching a “green channel” to further optimize the work flow, shorten the processing time and promote the smooth and efficient review and approval of the international cargo flight plans. IATA Calls for Adjustment of CORSIA Baseline and Extension of Deadline for Submission of Verification Reports
On March 30, 2020, due to the significant impact on the global air transport industry by COVID-19 pandemic, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) called on the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council to adjust carbon emissions baseline specified in the Carbon Offsetting and Reduction Scheme for International Aviation (CORSIA) in a timely way to avoid inappropriate economic burden on international aviation, thereby ensuring the sustainable development of the sector.

CAAC Attends Video-conference Held by ICAO Asia-Pacific Regional Office on Epidemic-related Information Sharing
On March 31, ICAO Asia-Pacific Regional Office held a video-conference among civil aviation directors-general of the region, during which ICAO and civil aviation authorities shared their experience and practices dealing with COVID-19, and exchanged views on current challenges and next-step priorities. The conference was attended by representatives from over 20 civil aviation authorities of China, Australia, India, Malaysia, Korea, Singapore and the Units States, and ICAO headquarter, IATA and EASA.
