Hylands Acts on behalf of the Hujialou Sub-district Office of the Chaoyang District People’s Government of Beijing in Responding to the Case of Chunwu LI’s Tort Liability Dispute

In April 2018, Chunwu LI, a resident of Jintaili Community, Hujialou Street, Chaoyang District, Beijing, sued the Hujialou Sub-district office of the Chaoyang District People’s Government of Beijing to the Chaoyang District People’s Court of Beijing, claiming that the office had failed to properly keep its files which caused him troubles to handle the retirement procedures and draw his pension, and asked the office to bear the liability for tort damages. The office entrusted attorney Shanhe JIANG of Hylands as its agent in the case.

In August 2018, the attorney Shanhe JIANG appeared in the court on behalf of the office to participate in the trial of the case. After the defense and debate, the court fully accepted the attorney Shanhe JIANG’s opinion and rejected the plaintiff Chunwu LI’s claims. After that, Chunwu LI appealed against the first instance judgment made by the Chaoyang District People’s Court of Beijing to the Third Intermediate People’s Court of Beijing. Attorney Shanhe JIANG continued to appear in the second instance of the case on behalf of the office. Finally, the Third Intermediate People’s Court of Beijing upheld the judgment of the first instance.

In this case, attorney Shanhe JIANG, after prolonged communication, investigation, and evidence collection, safeguarded the legitimate rights and interests of the office with his legal knowledge and rich litigation experience, which was highly valued and recognized by the office leaders and the staff.
